As part of the development of our forward looking 5 year Club Business Plan the General Committee has looked into a number of areas to ensure that TBLTC continues to retain existing members and also attract new ones. Core to this has been our desire to ensure that we offer a welcoming environment that appeals to a variety of members, from juniors just starting out in tennis through to seasoned and long-standing veterans.
One issue that we have discussed at length in Committee is our Club Clothing Policy and we have decided to make some small changes that we believe will be beneficial and will help to improve inclusiveness going forward.
Members will still be required to wear appropriate tennis shoes when playing but with immediate effect there will be the following changes:
- Adults: must wear white tops and socks in summer but have the option to wear either white or other single colour shorts/skirts (not to include fluorescent or multi colour). All items of clothing must be appropriate tennis wear. During the Winter season and inclement Summer weather, members may wear single colour tracksuit tops, bottoms, fleeces, sweatshirts and leggings.
- Juniors/Minis: No specific clothing policy will apply, except when Juniors/Minis are playing in Adult teams/events or when representing the Club in LTA or Essex competition, when the Adult rules as set out above will apply.
